Steel Magnolia on the Red Carpet!

It's been a few weeks of "firsts." I was so excited to receive my first ever official, in-the-mail, printed invitations to NY Fashion Week this year. I didn't go, but look out Fall...it's gonna be great! And then the following week I got to do my first red carpet for a movie premiere!

After Steel Magnolia's song "Keep On Loving You" was selected to be part of the Valentine's Day soundtrack, they got to walk the red carpet at the premiere. I got Meghan's dress at Hemline here in town, and Josh's suit is a repeat of the CMA Awards suit--a lovely Paul Smith.

P.S. If you go see the movie, the song's playing in one of the flower shop scenes.

Mat Kearney--"All I Have"

When this very long winter was still young, I styled Mat Kearney for his video for "All I Have", the second release off "City of Black and White". It was all shot right here in Nashville!

The bar set-up is actually at the Villager right in Hillsboro Village. If I had a nickel for every time Caroline has tried to get me to go there at some ungodly hour with her to shoot darts and inhale Mad Men-rivaling amounts of smoke, I would be a rich, rich lady. Somehow, I have always been able to resist, and this was actually my first time there. It was perfect timing because the Titans vs. Texans Monday night game was on, so in the downtime, I could watch the game! (You can see it in the background during the bartender's part.) Too bad we didn't also get to partake in the 2-for-1's! AND, my hair girl, Natalie at Fruition, makes a guest appearance. She's the first girl to sing in the bar. Love her.

If you're familiar with Mat, then you know that his short-sleeved shirt and tie are a bit of a staple. So I didn't actually do a whole lot in terms of vision, but I did buy that shirt and wash and iron it to perfection to achieve that amazing fit :-). Watch and enjoy!

AT&T Team USA(tm) Soundtrack: 3 Doors Down

AT&T Team USA(tm) Soundtrack: 3 Doors Down

If you follow me on Twitter, then you may have read my remarks a couple weeks ago about how working with 3 Doors Down is nothing short of an adventure on every shoot. The video shoot for their exclusive song for the Team USA AT&T soundtrack was no different (click the link above to watch the video.) Add in 320 lb blocks of ice and a really chilly (read: creepy) airplane hangar, and it's even more interesting. As you will see, we were trying to achieve a "cold" look, hence the fingerless gloves and layers. Watch and get ready to smash some stuff. Or go run about 5 miles. U-S-A! U-S-A!

On My Radar: Cut-out Shoulder Tops

Confession: I love "Keeping up with the Kardashians." Like, LOVE. So much so, that when Matt and I were in Miami a few weeks ago, I went several blocks out of my way to take a picture of their boutique. It's not that I think Kim and I could actually be friends. I mean, maybe we would. But it seems that we don't have much in common...except that Reggie Bush is both of our boyfriends. Wow, the confessions just keep coming, don't they? Just kidding, but you know I love the Saints, soooo, I love Reggie. Simply put, I am entertained by them. And it doesn't hurt that they have infinite wardrobe budgets either; so that's just fun to watch. Some people get their fix from the Real Housewives, I get mine from the Kardashians.

This is a long way around saying that I first starting noticing cutout shoulder tops (that I actually liked) on Kim during one of my KUWTK marathons one Saturday. In one episode, she wears one in two or three different colors. I got excited because I liked that she was wearing a t-shirt version instead of a dressy/fake silk/Charlotte Russe/corny version. I can't live without t-shirts and think this is an interesting way to make a t-shirt more fun. Here's Ms. Bush at a Miami Dolphins game a while back wearing one by Elizabeth and James (below.)

This look can easily creep into Wet Seal territory, so you gotta be careful. Keep it simple like Kim does. With the cutouts, you don't need much else.

I recently bought this one from I Heart Ronson, Charlotte Ronson's uber-affordable line at JCPenney. I know. JCPenney's. My mom made me go. I Heart Ronson is worth the trip though. I promise.

Sam Edelman: Spring/Summer 2010

One of my FAVORITE shoe lines is Sam Edelman! Such great quality and fashion forwardness in an affordable package. You should go to the website and start drooling over their Spring/Summer Collection. Right now.

The Kinley below is my favorite. Although I'm not really sure where I'd ever wear it. I may be a fashionista, but I'm not into being a taller-than-everyone-else-ista.

The Band Perry--"Hip To My Heart"

Hello everyone! Here is the most recent video that we worked on to come out of Nashville. We had a ton of fun on this one for The Band Perry. We were in one huge room that had been divided into two sets. It was basically a big white box that some folks went to work on painting, painting, painting.

Trey Fanjoy, who is one crazy load of fun, directed this one, Neil Robison was on hair and Lorrie Turk did the makeup. Holla.

The Band Perry is a sibling trio on Republic Nashville, and this is their first single. It's already hit the top 40 and it's catchy as all get-out. Be warned.

During the painting scene...an amazing Nashville sign/graffiti artist free-handed this whole set
